We Need Your Gifts—Generous giving should be the goal for everyone who has an interest in extending Kingdom’s work, inside and outside the local church congregation. Marketplace Ministries is one of those evangelical, effective and God blessed ministries that are entrepreneurial in spirit and successful by all standards.
 
Marketplace Ministries operates its services on a business model and is only required to raise contributions of approximately 6 to 10 percent of its budget. The other 90 percent is provided by companies whose employees are supported, valued, uplifted and helped by chaplains in their workplaces—with over 2,190 weekly work-site visits.
 
Fundraising is used to support and expand the ministry both nationally and internationally. Also, contributions can be designated to a specific project or foreign country where Marketplace Ministries is serving or seeking to serve.
 
There have been approximately 60,000 individuals who have acknowledged Christ as Savior as a result of our chaplains’ service. These have come as individuals who have invited a chaplain to share the Steps to Peace With God. Your gift is an eternal investment that will never lose value and can never been stolen. Your heart follows your money.
 
The following current needs and requirements for 2010 total $1.2 million dollars and are generated by generous givers:
  • Phase II Northwest Territory Expansion – Ministry work has already begun in Oregon and Washington State. This funding will complete the expansion into Canada and begin initial start up in Alaska. Project requirement - $200,000
  • Domestic Development – Six states remain in the U.S. without Marketplace Ministries’ presence. Funding will allow expansion into 2 of the 6 in 2010. Project requirement - $300,000
  • International Development – Funding needed to continue support in Mexico and the UK, as well as a new target market in South Korea. Project requirement - $300,000
  • Marketplace Ministries Railroad Chaplains of America – Marketplace Ministries currently cares for 2 0f 7 Class 1 Railroads. Funding is needed to expand ministry care to reach the additional 5 Railroads. Project requirement - $150,000
  • Marketplace Ministries Endowment Fund – We are asking God to lay on the hearts of 10 families to make an initial gift of at least $25,000 each to begin an honorary or memorial endowment in the Foundation. Project Goal - $250,000

Marketplace Ministries’ Foundation is a separately incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded February 19, 1998. Its work is to raise and oversee the management of charitable funds to further Marketplace Ministries’ mission to share God’s love through Chaplain Care Teams providing exceptional care in the work place.

The Marketplace Ministries Foundation was established by the founding President, Gil A. Stricklin. Stricklin also serves as the Chairman and CEO of Marketplace Ministries Inc. In February 2010, the Foundation hired Craig Shaver as Executive Vice President and Senior Director of Development to partner with Stricklin to help expand the Foundation and lead the day to day operations. Both continue to seek God for direction and leadership in the way He would have this Foundation move forward.
 
The Foundation reached its first $1 million in assets on September 11, 1999. This first million dollar goal was achieved in 20 months. Over the last 10 years, the total assets of the Foundation have reached $5 million. God has truly blessed the Foundation with individuals and Corporations that have partnered with the Ministry in generous giving.

Through the Marketplace Ministries Foundation, you have an opportunity by your gifts to enhance God’s Kingdom work today as well as unlimited into the future. The endowed gifts to the Foundation are never reinvested, only the earnings are. So, you have the opportunity to endow vital evangelistic ministries within the marketplace until Jesus returns. The following are the official guidelines for the use of the Foundation Assets:
 
  • Ministry Expansion – all 50 states and every major city
  • Foreign Expansion – all foreign countries as lead by God
  • Community Chaplain Ministry Benevolence – partnership with huge metropolitan cities to provide our service to city employees and their families without charge so there will be no separation of church and state issues.
  • Seminary Intern Scholarship Program – to provide a stipend for senior seminary students as they fulfill an internship with Marketplace Chaplains USA; for those selected for fulltime employment after graduation from seminary, the foundation will pay their final year’s tuition.
  • General Financial Support – funds to be made available for general financial support for the ministry, not previously mentioned.

The following contribution levels are available for you prayerful consideration before our Lord toward increasing the endowment of this Foundation. You may reach a level through a one time gift or a series of gifts to the Foundation:
  • Friends of the Foundation Endowment: up to $24,999 (combined with all gifts less than $25,000)
  • Marketplace Endowment: $25,000 to $49,999
  • Work Place Endowment: $50,000 to $99,999
  • Director’s Endowment: $100,000 to $249,000
  • President’s Endowment: $250,000 to $499,999
  • Chairman’s Endowment $500,000 to $999,999
  • Founder’s Endowment: $1,000,000 and over
