Tom was on a high. He simply
wanted to tell someone about his daughter, but was new to the
company, and didn’t want to be seen to be bragging. The chaplain
walked past and said ‘Hi, how are you doing today Tom’. Now
chaplains were new to Tom. In his 25 years experience of work he’d
never come across one, but here was someone he could share the good
news with. ‘My daughter’s got a job, and not just a job, but the
one she’s trained so hard for’. The chaplain and Tom talked about
the job for a moment or two. He just felt better for being able to
share this great news with someone in his workplace, and the chaplain
said she’d pop by to say ‘Hi’ again, and that she was there for
the good times, the difficult times, and for the ordinary times,
